what am i reading?

i just finished reading chlorine by jade song, which I loved. it brought me back to so much childhood longing, specifically the longing to be somewhere else. i have a long list of books to read next, but first up will be hour of the star by clarice lispector which I picked up at my local used bookstore. Lispector is an inspiration for me, a master of the craft.

what am i working on?

my spring semester just came to an end and i will be completing graduate school in seven short months. The past few weeks saw an increase in schoolwork and the conclusion of my internship at an archives. I learned a lot during this semester, particularly in that internship, where I had the opportunity to work with diverse and interesting collections.
i have not been creating for the joy of creation recently, but I plan to return to zine work and drawing in public.

what are my short-term goals?

i want to practice my french more regularly, perhaps with a study buddy. for those who don’t know, I met my husband through a language exchange app when I was wanting to practice my spanish. So, I have a certain soft spot for internet language pen pals.

additionally, I want to visit more museums and tourist hot-spots in my city. I have been doing this for free through my library.

what am i watching?

my brother and i have been powering through all of Fargo, now finishing season 5, and have been loving it. on my own, I have not been watching much for lack of time, but I have a long watchlist on my letterboxd.

acabo de terminar de leer chlorine de jade song, y me encantó. me hizo volver a sentir muchos anhelos de la infancia, específicamente el anhelo de estar en otro lugar.

tengo una larga lista de libros para leer después, pero el primero será la hora de la estrella de clarice lispector, que compré en una librería de segunda mano cerca de mi casa. lispector es una inspiración para mí, una maestra del oficio.

en que estoy trabajando?

mi semestre de primavera acaba de terminar y terminaré la maestría en solo siete cortos meses. Las últimas semanas trajeron un aumento en las tareas de la universidad y el final de mi pasantía en un archivo. aprendí muchísimo durante este semestre, particularmente en esa pasantía, donde tuve la oportunidad de trabajar con colecciones diversas e interesantes.

Últimamente no he estado creando por el simple placer de crear, pero tengo la intención de volver a hacer zines y dibujar en público.

cuales son mis objetivos a corto plazo?

quiero practicar mi francés más regularmente, tal vez con un compañero de estudio. para quienes no lo saben, conocí a mi esposo a través de una aplicación de intercambio de idiomas cuando quería practicar mi español. entonces, les tengo un cariño especial a los amigos por internet para intercambio de idiomas.

además, quiero visitar más museos y lugares turísticos en mi ciudad. he podido hacerlo gratis gracias a mi biblioteca.

qué estoy viendo?

mi hermano y yo hemos estado viendo Fargo de corrido y ahora estamos terminando la quinta temporada. nos ha encantado. por mi cuenta no he estado viendo mucho por falta de tiempo, pero tengo una larga lista de películas y series para ver en mi letterboxd.
